Chandré Gould is a senior research fellow in the Governance, Crime and Justice Programme at the Institute for Security Studies. Jane Kelly is a doctoral student in the Department of Psychology at the University of Cape Town. Katya Mauff was a consultant in the Department of Statistical Sciences at the University of Cape Town at the time of this study.
